Recent Results

  • Won a $10.45 million jury award against the City of Phoenix for negligent intersection design and maintenance that resulted in the death of a motorist.

  • Assisted a real estate investor in a multi-creditor workout, helping the client resolve more than $5 million in debt for less than 17 cents on the dollar and, as a result, helped the client, who had property interests in four states, avoid a bankruptcy filing.

  • Recovered over $200,000 for a watermelon grower in a AAA arbitration on a claim that the grower’s marketing and sales agent failed to fully pay all amounts due to the grower (see related article).

  • Concluded a negotiation on behalf of a shopping center landlord for a long-term lease (up to 50 years, with options) with a new anchor grocery store tenant. The tenant, a publicly traded company, also agreed to lease an adjoining land parcel with expansion rights.

  • Obtained a defense verdict on a case alleging trademark infringement against an architect.

  • Successfully represented the purchaser of a business in a case involving fraud. Fraudulent representations had been made about past sales, and the arbitrator ruled that, in light of the true sales volume, our client overpaid by $300,000. The arbitrator awarded 100% of the attorney’s fees that our clients incurred in representing the purchaser.

  • Obtained a defense verdict for a well-known Phoenix Mexican restaurant whose service of salsa was alleged to have caused the plaintiff’s slip and fall.

  • Obtained a defense verdict in a trip-and-fall case in which the Tempe business property owner allegedly breached the building code with its amphitheater steps.

  • Obtained summary judgment for a defendant lawyer in a legal malpractice case.
